    If a change in pitch tells you a cutter is getting dull—and you know which parameter to tweak—you’ll thrive at Amsted Rail Petersburg. As our CNC Manufacturing Technician, you’ll run an ID/OD machining line, ensure parts meet spec, and keep equipment performing at its best.

    Your impact from day one

    • Own safety: follow plant-wide safety, ergonomics, and environmental practices guided by our Health & Safety program.
    • Launch work: select the correct program in the control and start operations confidently.
    • Hold tolerance: measure critical dimensions with gauges per the departmental quality plan; verify alignment and part compliance.
    • Keep flow moving: monitor transfer conveyors, stage bins with a forklift, and update production in the company system.
    • Fix fast: diagnose vibration, tool wear, or drift; adjust tooling, cutters, and machine parameters (manual/auto).
    • Change over quickly: assist with set-ups and attachments across lines, robots, and conveyor systems.
    • Care for equipment: perform preventative maintenance and lift/position components using hoists or cranes.
    • Tackle the unexpected: inspect for defects and jump in with other duties as needed.

    Must-haves

    • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull 10–50 lbs.
    • Wear employer-provided PPE required by the department.
    • Comfort on your feet—regular standing and movement throughout the shift.
    • Mechanical aptitude; industrial/manufacturing experience is beneficial.
