Position Summary:
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and punctual candidate to be a CNC Operator. This person would have a strong mechanical aptitude, is alert, and always aware of their surroundings. Our ideal candidate has reliable transportation and will have impeccable attendance. The role of a CNC Operator will operate CNC machining centers and continuously check for tolerance consistency. Being able to work independently and manage your time to stay efficient is a must. Most of all machining done will be done on a variety of different plastics. This machine shop is specifically for the plastics industry and rarely do we machine metallic parts. Our new CNC Operator should have at least their own hand tools and measuring tools. Tools that are needed and not owned we will provide temporarily until the employee purchases their own tools through our Tool Purchasing Program.

Experience desired:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A certificate or diploma in engineering or a relevant discipline is a plus.
  • 1-2 years operating CNC or similar production machines.
  • Manual lathe/mill (not required).
  • Intermediate math skills (fraction/ decimal calculations).

Responsibilities, Requirements, Functions of CNC Machinist:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine. dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece to ensure parts will pass a quality check.
  • Be able to safely operate CNC machines and machining centers.
  • Operate and understand Haas and Mazak/Fanuc controls (a plus, but not required).
  • Take critical directions and follow detailed instructions.
  • Perform machine maintenance when required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Familiar with Multi-axis and live tooling machining centers.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Be Drug-Free.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands & arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; & stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, & the ability to focus. Safety glasses or side shields for prescription glasses are mandatory.

CNC Operators will work in a team environment. You will work closely with your team members to effectively ensure the client gets the best overall quality possible. Willingness to communicate with other team members, share knowledge, ask questions and be open to new ideas/practices creates the work environment we desire.
