Job Summary
JSGs Client, a growing aviation and space tooling fabrication shop, is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for contract to hire positions. Successful candidates will run set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-precision components from steel and aluminum materials, ensuring adherence to strict quality and safety standards for aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Run set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision parts for aviation and space tooling.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining requirements.
- Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts meet tolerances.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials (steel and aluminum) for each job.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain production efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
- Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist. in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or precision tooling.
- Required Skills:
- Must be able to Set Up and Run CNC Machines.
- Strong understanding of machining steel and aluminum materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality control processes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field preferred.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace or aviation tooling fabrication.
- Experience with various multi-axis CNC machines.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
