We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Operator for a 6-month contract-to-hire role on 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) in Elk Grove Village, IL, within the custom machinery industry for heating product manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will set up, operate, and program CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components, read blueprints, and use measurement tools to ensure quality. Collaboration with engineering and production teams is essential to optimize processes and suggest improvements. Occasional manual milling or lathe work may be required for efficiency.
Qualifications include 3-5 years of CNC experience (lathe-only candidates not considered), blueprint reading, and mechanical aptitude. Manual machine experience and CNC certification are pluses. The role involves routine maintenance, safety, and a reliable, detail-oriented approach. The workweek is standard, with minimal overtime, and background screening is required.
