Job Summary



• Review drawings and/or CAD models, and determine best method to fabricate parts, including which machines, tools and fixtures are required.

• Identify and obtain required tooling for machining parts. • Develop MasterCam program(s) to machine specified parts and generate CNC code

• Setup and operate mills, lathes and/or grinders (both CNC and manual) and machine specified parts.

• Inspect parts using micrometers, test indicators, optical comparators and toolmakers microscopes. Use reverse molds when necessary to measure interior features.

• Make tooling/machine adjustments as necessary to meet drawing tolerances.

• Document inspection results and general notes for machined items.

• Work with management in solving equipment or processing problems.

• Perform periodic maintenance items as directed.

• Discuss prospective jobs with the requesting customer, and suggest potential modifications to simplify the manufacturing process.

• Assist with production machining when required.

• Participate in writing procedures and process documentation.

• Suggest process and equipment improvements.

• Assist in development of new products or technology.

• Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
