Job Summary: We are hiring a CNC Lead Machinist to support precision aerospace manufacturing operations in Bay Shore, NY. This role is for an experienced CNC machinist who can lead daily production, set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, troubleshoot issues, support quality checks, and help keep production moving safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities: • Lead CNC machinists and operators during daily production • Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes • Run 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC machines • Work with Fanuc, Mazak, or similar CNC controls • Read blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications • Perform tool changes, replace inserts, adjust offsets, and make corrections • Troubleshoot setup, tooling, program, machine, or quality issues • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and height gauges • Support first-piece inspections and in-process checks • Verify parts meet dimensional accuracy, finish, and quality standards • Train and support machinists on setups, operation, safety, and quality expectations • Communicate production status, delays, and quality concerns to supervisors
Schedule / Pay: • Full-time opportunity • Monday to Friday schedule • Overtime available • $32-$38/hour based on experience • Long-term opportunity in aerospace manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Run 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC machines based on job requirements
• Work with Fanuc, Mazak, or similar CNC machine controls
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and machining specifications
• Perform tool changes, replace inserts, adjust offsets, and make machine corrections
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot setup, tooling, program, or quality issues
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Support first-piece inspections, in-process checks, and tight tolerance requirements
• Verify parts meet dimensional accuracy, finish, and quality standards
• Identify out-of-spec parts, tool wear, machine issues, or process concerns and escalate as needed
• Train and support CNC operators on setups, machine operation, safety, and quality expectations
• Communicate production status, delays, material needs, and quality concerns to supervisors
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machining area while following company procedures
