Description:

CNC Lathe Machinist – (1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift, Full-Time)

$24.44 – $27.44/hour + $1.50/hr Shift Premiumfor 2nd & 3rd shift

Schedule: 

1st shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm

2nd shift: Monday – Thursday, 2:00pm–12:00am

3rd shift: Monday - Thursday, 8:00pm - 6:00am 


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Team Lead or Plant Management Team, the experienced CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up and running the equipment per the appropriate work instructions. Also, the CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for measuring and obtaining the inspection of the “first” piece produced.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct inspection of parts during “run” per the work instruction and maintain part specification.

2. Responsible for maintaining tooling/inserts.

3. Conduct daily/weekly maintenance inspections of equipment and record.

4. Follow established material handling procedures.

5. May operate other equipment/machines as directed by supervision.

6. Must maintain flexibility as job or machining priorities change day to day.

7. Follow all safety rules while performing job functions.


MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Help keep the area clean and neat (practice housekeeping).

2. Assist with the development of more efficient manufacturing methods and procedures.

3. Check machine coolant/concentration levels and service as needed.

4. May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the work load, machine being down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.

5. Must be open-minded to various product designs.

6. Must be able to stay on the “task” due to the manual environment.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Two-year Associates Degree in Machine Tool techniques with one year of on-the-job CNC Machinist experience required

3. With no applicable degree, minimum of three years of on-the-job CNC Machinist experience required


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. Must be able to read and understand blue prints

2. Set up and operate precision measurement equipment

3. Must be able to work independently
