Your missionWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer with expertise in CNC machinery to join our service team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing CNC machines at customer sites across the Chicago area and the U.S. West Coast. You'll be the face of our company in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal machine performance.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on CNC machines and automation systems on-site across West Coast in a timely and efficient mannerInstall, commission, and test CNC machines and associated automation equipment at customer facilitiesPerform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance, minimize downtime, and maximize productivityConduct machine demonstrations and provide technical expertise during customer visitsAccurately document all service activities, including parts used, labor time, and any technical issues encounteredProvide remote and telephone support to customers for troubleshooting and technical guidanceYour profileMin. 3-5 years experience as a Field Service Engineer/Technician in the CNC or machine tool industryStrong skills in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and CNC issuesSolid CNC milling knowledge; Heidenhain experience is a plusAbility to read technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawingsValid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to travel up to 75% domesticallyWhy us?Health and dental insurance401k with company matchPaid time off and paid holidaysCompany cell phone and laptopAbout UsKERN designs and manufactures high-end milling machines, capable of achieving the tightest tolerances and best surface finishes in the industry.
