CNC Service Technician Specialist

Join our team as a CNC Service Technician Specialist with a leading CNC Machine Tool Builder in Louisville, KY! As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in providing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support for CNC machine tools at various customer sites across the country. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, advanced diagnostic abilities, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction will ensure that our machines perform optimally and exceed customer expectations. This position reports to the CNC Field Service Manager and offers flexibility in location, with a preference for candidates near major airports in IL, TN, KY, AL, and OH.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up new CNC machine tool systems at customer locations, complete with accessories
• Conduct thorough checks on machine geometry and make necessary adjustments for peak efficiency
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and application-related issues promptly
• Identify root causes of problems and propose effective repair or replacement solutions
• Deliver technical assistance both on-site and remotely through various communication channels
• Offer technical support to customers, distributors, and internal teams to address challenges
• Provide training to customers and assist in project coordination as required
• Offer service support at events such as trade shows and company gatherings
• Maintain accurate service documentation and generate detailed reports
• Travel extensively, including overnight stays and occasional weekend travel
• Undertake other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Hold a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field – or possess equivalent hands-on experience
• Have at least 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance and service for both electrical and mechanical systems
• Bring 5+ years of experience in providing remote technical support within the machine tool industry
• Demonstrate expertise in installing and servicing machining centers, with a focus on leveling and geometric alignment
• Possess a strong understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Be familiar with CNC control systems, particularly FANUC controls
• Have a solid grasp of power circuits and industrial electrical systems
• Exhibit excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Be willing to travel extensively, including weekdays, and work independently in the field
