Shape precision parts with code, fixtures, and know‑how
Picture your day: you open GibbsCAM, load a 3D model, and translate it into clean, efficient CNC code. You sketch a fixture concept, collaborate with machinists to build it, and run a first article that hits blueprint specs. Between jobs, you coach a teammate who’s learning CAM, adjust tooling to shave seconds off a cycle, and log results so the next run is even better. If that sounds like you, read on.
What you’ll tackle
- Author and refine CNC programs in CAM to produce parts that meet print and quality requirements.
- Design and guide the build of robust workholding/fixtures to support new and existing setups.
- Leverage tooling, equipment, and programming strategies to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Hit production schedules while maintaining stringent quality standards.
- Mentor CNC operators and machinists, including colleagues learning CAM, sharing best practices and troubleshooting tips.
What you bring
- 1–3 years of hands-on CNC programming experience using GibbsCAM or similar CAM software.
- Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints and 3D models.
- Ability to plan and execute daily/weekly tasks with minimal supervision.
- Comfort giving direction to peers within the machining department.
- Skill in gathering data, compiling information, and preparing concise reports.
- Safe operation of fork trucks and overhead cranes.
- Solid PC proficiency for CAM and documentation.
Tools of the trade
- CAM platform: GibbsCAM
- Core capability: CNC programming
If you’re energized by turning models into repeatable, high-quality parts—and helping others level up their CAM skills—you’ll thrive here.
