Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 4x12 Variable or 3x12 Variable (traveler's choice); Night (4x12 Hours) 19:00 7:30 / Day (4x12 Hours) 7:00 19:30. Note that caregivers are not asked to rotate between night/day shifts (occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs). Shifts will be either Days or Nights, but dependent on facility needs at time of start date.
  • Travel Requirements: Previous travel experience required. Local candidates not accepted candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Long Term Care (LTC) travel CNA / Nurse Assistant assignment at a 40-bed Long Term Care Facility in Seward, AK. Previous travel experience is required, and first-time travelers are not accepted. The assignment offers traveler's choice of a 13-week or 26-week contract duration. The facility will arrange a vehicle for the traveler's use while on assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within a Long Term Care facility setting with a 1:20 patient ratio.
  • Float within scope to meet facility needs as required.
  • Obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a requirement of working in a LTC facility; certification will be completed during orientation on-site at the facility and does not need to be completed prior to start date.
  • Operate a facility-provided or rental vehicle solely for use around town; vehicle must not be taken off-road or outside a 30-mile radius from the facility.
  • Provide a copy of a valid driver's license and proof of insurance prior to operating the vehicle; personal vehicle insurance policy must have rental car insurance to cover any accidents/damages to a rental car.
  • Return the vehicle cleaned and with a full tank of gas.
  • Turn in the vehicle during any time off during the contract; a new vehicle will be issued upon return.

  • Alaska (AK) CNA license required AK CNA license may be pending, but candidate must have already submitted the Alaska CNA license application in order to apply. Candidate must provide documentation of license application that includes: application submittal, application fee paid, fingerprints (FPs) submitted, educational verification submitted, and license verification submitted.
  • If AK CNA license is pending, candidate must also submit: a valid CNA license in another state, and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate, transcript, etc.)

Important Notes

  • Previous travel experience is required. First-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Alaska CNA License: AK CNA license may be pending, but the candidate must have already submitted the Alaska CNA license application prior to applying. Candidates who have not yet submitted an application should be redirected. Required documentation includes: application submittal confirmation, application fee paid, fingerprints (FPs) submitted, educational verification submitted, and license verification submitted. If AK CNA license is pending, candidate must additionally submit a valid CNA license in another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program.
  • Alaska Food Worker Certification: All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a requirement of working in a LTC facility. Clinicians will obtain this certification during orientation on-site at the facility and do not need to complete it prior to their start date. There is a one-time fee for this certification.
  • RTO Policy: No more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered for a 26-week contract. Preference is for travelers to be willing/able to work any holidays. All RTO must be sent with the initial submittal. RTO will not be considered if requested after an offer or after signing the contract.
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted. Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
  • Vehicle Policy: The facility will arrange a vehicle for the traveler's use while on assignment (either a facility-owned vehicle rented to the traveler or a vehicle through a rental car company). The vehicle will be available no earlier than 72 hours before the contract begins and no longer than 24 hours after the contract ends. Only the traveler is authorized to operate the vehicle. The traveler must provide a copy of a valid driver's license and proof of insurance prior to operating the vehicle. The traveler's personal vehicle insurance policy must have rental car insurance to cover any accidents/damages to a rental car. Vehicles are provided solely for use around town and must not be taken off-road or outside a 30-mile radius from the facility. If the traveler has time off during the contract, they must turn in the vehicle during that time off and will be issued a new vehicle upon return. Tire chains, if desired, are an additional cost billed to the traveler. The vehicle must be returned cleaned and with a full tank of gas.
