Title: CNA / Nurse Assistant – Emergency Department (Nights)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts | 36 Hours Per Week
Shift: Nights
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care within a fast-paced Emergency Department environment. This role is ideal for CNAs who thrive in high-acuity settings, enjoy working as part of a collaborative healthcare team, and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care within the Emergency Department
Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Obtain and document vital signs accurately
Assist with bathing, feeding, toileting, dressing, and mobility
Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to nursing staff
Serve as a patient safety companion/sitter when required
Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and safety
Support nurses and providers with patient care activities
Transport and position patients safely
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Follow infection prevention and safety protocols
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Required Qualifications:
Current New York State CNA Certification
Current BLS Certification
Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
Minimum 2 years of ADL experience
Level I Trauma Hospital experience required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
Must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency Department experience
Float Pool experience
Previous experience as a Patient Safety Companion/Sitter
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
