Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Nurse Assistant – Correctional Healthcare

Location: Rome, NY 13440
Duration: 26–52 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12s
Hours: 19:00 – 06:53 | 3 Nights Per Week

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Nurse Assistant for a correctional healthcare assignment in Rome, New York. This role is based in an inpatient correctional facility clinic providing direct care and clinical support within a secure healthcare environment.

Requirements:

  • Current, valid CNA license or Nurse Aide certification in New York State (or eligible limited permit).

  • Must meet state requirements for correctional healthcare assignments.

  • Ability to pass state-run Criminal History clearance.

  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations.

  • Ability to follow strict safety, security, and healthcare protocols.

  • Experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, mental health, or behavioral health settings preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer daily medications in accordance with facility protocols.

  • Monitor patient compliance with prescribed medication regimens.

  • Take and record vital signs and perform basic clinical observations.

  • Assist with wound care and other patient care activities.

  • Conduct routine health screenings and assessments.

  • Respond to medical emergencies within the facility.

  • Accurately document patient health information, treatments, and updates.

  • Maintain compliance with correctional facility safety and security procedures.

  • Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to provide quality patient care.

  • Support daily clinical operations within the healthcare unit.
