A day in this role

You move seamlessly from raw tungsten powder to precision-finished parts, using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to verify critical dimensions and help our CNC operators keep production on target. You translate data into action—closing feedback loops with the floor, running final dimensional checks, and documenting every step so quality is never a question.

  • Start your shift by reviewing lots spanning raw powder through final components and prioritizing inspections.
  • Run CMM programs, validate results, and communicate findings to production CNC operators for rapid adjustments.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections that are both CMM-based and non-CMM as needed.
  • Perform tensile testing on powder metallurgy specimens to verify mechanical properties.
  • Characterize tungsten powder and record results in our database for full traceability.
  • Stamp, label, and wrap finished product to exact customer specifications.
  • Adhere to all relevant MTTM procedures and the MTTM Quality Policy.

What you’ll do

  • Interpret and communicate CMM results to production.
  • Execute final inspections using the CMM.
  • Complete non-CMM in-process and final inspections.
  • Carry out tensile tests on powder metallurgy specimens.
  • Characterize tungsten powder and enter data into the database.
  • Prepare products for shipment with correct stamps, labels, and packaging.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Related experience in a manufacturing or inspection environment.
  • Experience operating a CMM.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Preferred: 3+ years inspecting product or working in a materials lab.
