Our client, a Commercial Banking company, is looking for a CMDB Platform Engineer for their Raleigh NC / Charlotte NC / Atlanta GA / Richmond VA / Wilson NC location.

Responsibilities:

Initial/Primary Project Name(s): Service Aware Organization
Business Initiative/Purpose: Deliver a Service Aware Organization by standardizing service identity, ownership, dependencies, telemetry, and controls into a machine readable model that enables end to end visibility, enforced accountability, and scalable, automation driven operations
The CMDB Platform Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining platform-native capabilities that make service and configuration data reliable, enforceable, and operationally useful. This role translates Service-Aware Operating Model requirements into scalable workflows, controls, and platform logic that improve data quality, lifecycle discipline, and service visibility at enterprise scale. The CMDB Platform Engineer focuses on the workflows, rules, automation, and user experiences inside the platform that govern how service and configuration data is created, maintained, and used.

Platform Automation & Workflow Engineering

Design and implement platform-native workflows that support CMDB governance, service onboarding, lifecycle management, and service ownership accountability.
Build automations that reduce manual administrative effort while improving consistency, control, and traceability.
Ensure workflow behavior aligns to Service-Aware operating model objectives and data governance requirements.

Governance Controls & Policy Enforcement

Implement enforceable controls using business rules, script logic, platform automation, and approval patterns to improve compliance with service and configuration data standards.
Translate governance requirements into deterministic platform behavior that prevents incomplete, noncompliant, or low-confidence updates.
Partner with architecture and data roles to operationalize policy-as-code style guardrails within platform processes.

CMDB Experience & Platform Capability Development

Develop platform components, forms, workspaces, dashboards, and scoped capabilities that improve how teams interact with service and configuration data.
Improve the usability of platform experiences for service onboarding, ownership validation, certification, and remediation.
Ensure platform capabilities support service-aware context, lifecycle progression, and operational decision-making.

Technical Debt Reduction & Upgrade Safety

Refactor legacy customizations into maintainable, upgrade-safe implementations aligned to platform engineering standards.
Reduce brittle logic, hard-coded dependencies, and configuration sprawl that increase operational and upgrade risk.
Continuously improve maintainability, supportability, and long-term platform sustainability.

Automation Enablement for Visibility & Remediation

Enable downstream automation by ensuring CMDB-related platform logic supports service visibility, event context, and remediation workflows.
Support operational use cases where trusted service and configuration data improves prioritization, triage, and issue containment.

Requirements:

Deep expertise in workflow automation, business rules, script logic, form design, and maintainable platform configuration patterns.
Strong understanding of CMDB concepts, lifecycle governance, and service-aware operating models.
Proven ability to build scalable, upgrade-safe automation that embeds governance into day-to-day platform behavior.
Familiarity with policy enforcement through automation and governed workflow design.
Experience in highly regulated or operationally complex environments.
