We deliver comprehensive in-home care to homebound medically complex patients across Jefferson County and beyond. Our interdisciplinary team brings high-quality compassionate care directly to patients homes. UAB House Calls is proud to serve as a vital lifeline for some of our communitys most vulnerable members.Under the Director of Ambulatory Services supervision and according to established policies and procedures the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care for House Calls patients and driving providers to and from House Call visits to maximize visit efficiency. Helps assist physicians with patient care procedures. Works to provide direct and indirect patient care often in the patients place of residence for a variety of patient ages and patient populations. May do venipuncture take vital signs review medications and administer vaccinations. May help organize and maintain electronic medical record while also ordering Durable Medical Equipment assist with consent form preparation and signing Primary Care Provider change forms and answering the House Calls phone line. Local Travel to patients homes within a 30 to 40 mile radius. Use of personal vehicle required.
