Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure & Operations Engineer Job Location: Fully Remote Job Duration: 12 Months Overview Senior technical and operational role within clients UCWE Cloud Operations organization Responsible for secure, scalable, cost-optimized cloud environments across Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID Scope includes: identity, engineering, infrastructure operations, governance, FinOps, compliance, onboarding, architectural guidance Acts as technical leader and governance authority over Client (cloud operations partner) Ideal candidate: hands-on with cloud platforms, familiar with governance models, confident in directing external partners Key Responsibilities Cloud Identity & Access Management Manage Azure & AWS organizations and management groups Oversee Windows Domain Services, identity integrations, directory hygiene Administer app/service principal registrations and lifecycle Act as Azure Enrollment Admin / AWS Master Payer Cloud Engineering Define and maintain architecture standards and reference architectures Support Azure & AWS DevOps pipelines, CI/CD tooling, automation frameworks Develop and maintain Terraform modules and IaC automation Provide engineering oversight for Client-delivered builds and environments Infrastructure Operations Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, networking, and resource issues Enable application teams and coordinate escalations with Client Support Bastion onboarding and secure-access patterns Provide Azure/AWS SDBA support (storage, database, backup) Produce cost estimates, resource sizing, and optimization suggestions Lead/support cloud builds, provisioning, and production cutovers Participate in application migrations (on-prem cloud, cloud cloud) Contribute to change management and patching strategies Cloud Policy, Standards & Governance Maintain/enforce CSP & SaaS approval flows Define/refine policies (RBAC, baselines, guardrails) Drive governance for secure, consistent cloud use Maintain naming standards & tagging frameworks Manage policy exceptions and sunset timelines Publish training content, documentation, newsletters, and videos Cloud Onboarding Perform AWS & Azure account creation and subscription setup Onboard environments to Astra and internal platforms Define ownership, RBAC assignments, baseline configuration Capture metadata for compliance, FinOps, and security visibility Assist with iTAP ID creation, app registration, and access workflows Billing, Cost Management & FinOps Deliver analytics, reporting, dashboards, and consumption insights Track subscription onboarding for financial visibility Monitor spend, detect anomalies, and drive remediation Identify systemic cost gaps and refine FinOps playbooks Support Quicksight dashboards, budget creation, and forecasting Mature FinOps practices with Client partnership Cloud Policy Compliance Enforce governance, policy adherence, and guardrails Monitor deployments for violations, misconfigurations, and drift Provide training to improve compliance Partner with app teams to resolve issues Support compliance attestations (SOX, PCI, SPI) Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) Provide solution architecture support to cloud consumers Deliver consulting for onboarding, workload design, modernization Maintain SharePoint knowledge base (runbooks, patterns, training) Partner with enterprise architecture and platform teams Vendor Partnership Oversight (Client) Oversight & Direction: Align Clients work with client standards Quality Assurance: Review/approve Client outputs (pipelines, IaC, builds) Delivery & Execution: Coordinate handoffs, escalations, and intake Strategic Partnership: Drive continuous improvement, automation, efficiency Qualifications Required 5+ years in cloud infrastructure/operations/engineering Proficiency with Azure, AWS, Entra ID, DevOps pipelines, Terraform, cloud networking Experience with large-scale managed services partners Strong understanding of governance, FinOps, identity Strong communication and leadership skills Preferred Azure or AWS Architect certifications FinOps Practitioner certification Experience with large-scale platform migrations Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI, ISO) Technical Skills Must Have Deep knowledge of cloud identity & access management (Entra ID, RBAC, app registrations, service principals) Ability to enforce governance, security guardrails, compliance controls, FinOps practices Hands-on expertise with Azure & AWS production environments at enterprise scale Proficiency with Terraform and automated deployments via CI/CD pipelines Experience designing secure, scalable, governed cloud architectures Strong troubleshooting across networking, authentication, connectivity, availability, production cutovers Nice To Have Azure/AWS Architecture or FinOps certifications Background in large-scale platform/application migrations (on-prem cloud, cloud cloud) Experience as solution architect/technical advisor in a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) Experience building/maintaining landing zones, management groups, multi-account hierarchies Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI) in cloud environments Experience governing managed services partners, including QA of IaC, pipelines, builds Metasys Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
