This role leads cloud cost governance, optimization, and cost-sharing implementation for multi-cloud platforms while partnering with AFCENT A6/A8, PMOs, cyber, finance, and the CAOC. What will you do?

  • Must be able to travel to Shaw AFB for 1 week a month
  • Optimize and govern cloud spending across Azure Government in IL2-IL6 and coalition environments
  • Implement tagging strategy and TBM framework to enable mission-level cost transparency
  • Build forecasts, POM inputs, and execution dashboards with variance analysis for AFCENT leadership
  • Align cloud financial practices with PPBE, DoD FMR (7000.14-R), and color-of-money rules requirements
  • Support CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and Kubernetes-based platforms in secure, multi-tenant environments
  • Contribute to cloud-native architectures, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), IaC, and compliance-driven reference patterns (RMF, ATO)
  • Coordinate with engineering, cyber, contracting, finance, and coalition partners to ensure cost decisions support mission and security timelines
  • Brief senior leaders; translate technical cloud billing into operational and mission impacts

Required Qualifications

CompTIA Security+ certification (or higher)

Experience in DoD or Air Force environments, preferably MAJCOM/COCOM or CAOC operations

Knowledge of PPBE, DoD FMR, WBS, and color-of-money constraints

Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and/or Azure Government cloud cost management

Proficiency with Excel and Power BI for financial analysis and reporting

Familiarity with ATO-governed systems, POA&Ms, and IL2-IL6 environments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or Advanced Practitioner

Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI

Experience with Cloud One / Platform One, Iron Bank, or DevSecOps pipelines

Scripting (Python/PowerShell) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/ARM/CloudFormation)

Experience supporting software acquisition pathways and cloud contracting mechanisms
