    Description

    DPP is seeking a Cloud Engineer for an opportunity with our client in Columbia, SC.
     
    Work location: Hybrid; 3 days per month onsite
    Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of extension
    Term: W2 position; consultant
    Candidate location: Open to nationwide candidates; must be able to work eastern time zone hours.
     
    Position description:
    • The Cloud Engineer will aid the Department of Technology Operations with supporting deployment and management of state-wide Information Technology Shared Services Cloud initiatives and projects.
    • The Cloud Engineer will work with stakeholders for adoption, to further develop strategies and support the managed cloud broker.
    • This position will assist with day-to-day operations and migrations to AWS/Azure Cloud infrastructure as the organization transitions to a managed cloud broker.
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform system administration, automation, and development tasks for the Cloud Management Platform (CMP).
    • Work with the agency and customer personnel to facilitate migrations to the state-wide cloud infrastructure.
    • Maintain continuity of shared services offered across AWS and Azure.
    Required skills:
    • 10 years infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or architecture
    • 8+ years technical architecture
    • 5-7 years AWS (IAM, Organizations, Networking Architectures, Cost Management controls, etc.)
    • 3-5 years Azure (RBAC, Azure AD, Networking Architectures, Cost Management controls, etc.)
    • 3-7 years enterprise cloud architecture or governance
    • 3-5 years Terraform and infrastructure as a code
    • 3-5 years cloud migrations and platform operations
    • 3+ years technical leadership and knowledge transfer
    • Public Cloud infrastructure expertise
    Required education/certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and 8+ years of technical architecture experience and relevant hands-on engineering.
    • CJIS certification
     Preferred skills:
    • Expertise in Terraform infrastructure as code, understanding of scaling technologies and solutions, experience with AWS or other clouds, familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container platforms, security, penetration testing and threat
      detection tools, and experience with ServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, and/or Aviatrix.
    • Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering.
    • Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment.
    • AWS and/or Azure certifications preferred
