Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Cloud DevOps Engineer position! This is a 6 month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design, build, and manage GCP infrastructure environments to support critical business operations and application delivery
  • Provision and configure core Google Cloud services including Compute Engine VMs (Linux and Windows), GKE clusters, Dataproc clusters, and Cloud SQL instances
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and Cloud Deployment Manager
  • Monitor, optimize, and tune cloud platforms for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability using Google Cloud Operations Suite (Stackdriver), Prometheus, and Grafana
  • Implement and maintain security controls including IAM policies, network security configurations, and encryption standards across all cloud resources
  • Collaborate with application development teams to accelerate delivery cycles and improve system reliability through DevOps best practices
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for production and non-production incidents, conducting thorough root cause analysis and creating comprehensive documentation
  • Design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical services and data
  • Translate business requirements into technical design specifications that align with service level agreements and organizational standards


What You'll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT development or engineering roles with a focus on cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing containerized applications on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) using Helm and Kubernetes orchestration
  • Strong proficiency with Python and GCP services including Cloud Composer/Airflow, Data Fusion, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, and Dataflow
  • Solid expertise with DevOps automation tools and workflows including Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and GitHub
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Google Cloud Operations Suite, Prometheus, and Grafana
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS configuration
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting for automation tasks
  • Strong Git version control skills including branching strategies and collaborative development workflows


Pay Range: $70-80/hr
