The Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is seeking a full-time Physiatrist to provide consultative services and support the continued growth of our expanding Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). This position is a key component of the Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation's (PM&R) growth and will strengthen both clinical services and academic training within the program.
The successful candidate will provide inpatient consult coverage at UNM Hospital and supervise residents and medical students during rotations. This position is essential to meeting ACGME requirements for the PM&R Residency Program, a four-year categorical program that trains the next generation of leaders in rehabilitation medicine. Faculty in the Division also participate in didactic teaching, scholarly activity, and program development.
We are seeking candidates who are board-certified (or eligible) in PM&R. Faculty rank and clinical focus within PM&R are flexible, and the candidate may come from any subspecialty within PM&R.
With a catchment population of over 800,000 and very little competition, the UNM hospital is a 618-bed, Level 1 trauma center servicing a state with a very strong need for PM&R services. Applicants with diverse interests in PM&R are all welcome and will be well-supported with the multi-specialty team focusing on using a wide range of minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical techniques.
