Clinical Support Supervisor – Lead the Engine Behind Exceptional Patient Care

Behind every great provider is a great team — and we need someone to lead ours.

Affinity Health Center is searching for a dynamic Clinical Support Supervisor to oversee the critical operations that connect patients to the care they need. If you're someone who thrives on solving complex problems, building efficient systems, and empowering a team to deliver results, this role was made for you.

This is a high-impact leadership position at the heart of our clinical operations — where your work directly translates into patients getting their medications, their referrals, and their care without barriers.

Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000 annually (Based on Experience and Qualifications)

Benefits:

  • Fully Funded Health Insurance
  • Paid-Time Off
  • Group Health /Life/Dental/Vision/Disability
  • Health Reimbursement Account
  • 403B Retirement Plan with 3% match
  • 12 Paid Holidays

What You'll Do

You'll lead the clinical support programs that keep our patients connected to care — from the first referral to the last prescription filled.

Care Coordination & Referral Management

  • Oversee the full care coordination and referral management process, ensuring patients are seamlessly connected to specialty care and ancillary services
  • Manage relationships and workflows with external partners, including Best Chance Network (BCN), Colorectal Cancer Prevention Network (CCPN), and other managed care organizations
  • Monitor referral completion rates, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions that close the loop on every referral

Prior Authorization & Patient Access

  • Supervise the timely completion of prior authorizations for imaging, procedures, and medications — minimizing delays and denials
  • Oversee patient medication access programs, including Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs), to ensure patients can obtain the medications they need regardless of financial barriers
  • Track authorization outcomes and develop strategies to improve approval rates and turnaround times

Medical Records Oversight

  • Ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient management of medical records, including requests, releases, and documentation standards
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies governing health information

Leadership & Quality Improvement

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, mentorship, and performance management for clinical support staff
  • Set clear expectations, conduct evaluations, and cultivate a team culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of program performance metrics — track KPIs, analyze trends, and report outcomes to leadership.
  • Actively support quality improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and the patient experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in care coordination, referral management, prior authorizations, or a related clinical support function
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish — a tremendous asset in connecting with the communities we serve
  • Experience working in an FQHC, community health center, or managed care environment
  • Familiarity with Patient Assistance Programs, insurance authorization processes, referrals management, and medical records management

Why This Role Matters

In community health, clinical support isn't behind the scenes — it's the engine. When a referral gets completed, a prior auth gets approved, or a patient receives medication they couldn't otherwise afford, that's because of the team you'll lead. This role offers:

  • Visible impact. Your work removes real barriers to care for real people — every single day.
  • Leadership opportunity. Build, develop, and lead a team that is essential to our mission.
  • Professional growth. Gain broad operational experience across care coordination, compliance, managed care partnerships, and quality improvement.
  • Collaborative culture. Work alongside dedicated providers, administrators, and community partners who share your commitment to health equity.
