Job Summary
The MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Buddhism-Informed Contemplative Counseling (BICC) concentration seeks Clinical Support Professional Readers (CSP) to assist the course instructor in the in-person Art of Contemplative Clinical Mental Health Counseling CNSC823 class and outside of class meetings. The role offers support with the student experience in class and mentors students in creating their Master's Paper Capstone project. This is a one-semester appointment. This is a 2-credit course, scheduled to meet Tuesdays 1:00pm-2:50pm, Friday April 24 5pm-7pm, and Saturday April 25 8:30am-6:30pm on Naropa University's Nalanda Campus. Semester dates are 01/12/2026-05/08/2026.
Course Description
An opportunity for students to review and integrate the Buddhist teachings while engaging in their internship experience. Students present clinical issues arising with clients and examine ways to integrate Buddhist, clinical, social justice, and other contemporary approaches to the art of practicing contemplative clinical mental health counseling. The course culminates in a Master's Paper and Presentation designed to further the conceptual and clinical acumen of the developing counselor. Pre-requisite: CNSC871 Internship I: Placement & Contemplative Supervision and CNSC803 Buddhist Psychology V: The Way of the Contemplative Counselor.
