A Med/Surg RN Supervisor or Med/Surg Charge Nurse oversees the efficient functioning of the Medical Surgical units, balancing administrative duties with patient care. They coordinate patient flow, ensuring the right resources are available for patient needs and that priority cases are addressed promptly. This Registered Nurse manages staffing, assigning duties based on skill and patient load while providing guidance and support to the nursing team. They also consult with doctors and departments to streamline operations and maintain clear communication. Charge nurses manage complex care cases, resolve conflicts, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with healthcare policies, all while fostering a cohesive, efficient team environment that enhances patient care.
