SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Registered Nurse Clinical Staff Leader will ensure clinical care delivery and ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN Clinical Staff Leader will be involved in providing clinical patient care. The RN Clinical Staff Leader will assist in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and will serve as a role model for professional nursing practice. The RN Clinical Staff Leader will review appropriate staffing based on patient acuity and patient needs and assess nursing service needs relative to the needs of patients within the unit and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Our progressive and innovative surgical team fosters an environment that is challenging, dynamic, and state-of-the-art. Our operating room suites consist of 34 operating rooms and four procedure rooms. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of cases. The operating room completes over 20,000 procedures annually. Because we are part of an academic medical center as well as a Level I Trauma Center, you will be exposed to a wide variety of patients and experiences. Some of the OR services we provide on a daily basis include:

• General vascular • Neurosurgery • Cardiothoracic • Orthopaedic • ENT • Transplantation • Gynecology • Urology • Plastic and reconstructive • Pediatric surgery

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing required • Two years of clinical experience required • Progressive leadership experience required • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
