Overview

The Clinical Specialist II will provide clinical services for the Center for Developmental Behavioral Health clients based on evidence-based principles to reduce child problem behaviors and increase adaptive skills. This will be achieved through direct interactions with the child and caregivers, and other staff as appropriate. Follow-up interactions with teacher and/or related providers in community settings may also be required on a case-by-case basis. staff training and monitor the effectiveness and implementation of behavioral protocols in community settings.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of individual assessment and treatment plans. Conceptualize assessment and treatment plans and contribute to overall development of the case. Perform case management duties such as conducting assessment and treatment sessions; collecting data; and protocol development, implementation, and review. Provide training to parents (as needed) to ensure that therapeutic strategies are carried out correctly. Provide diplomatic and appropriate corrective feedback and demonstrate sensitivity to parent concerns. Provide timely updates to supervisory staff. Initiate and maintain contact with internal Kennedy Krieger Institute clinical disciplines and external agencies (e.g., schools, social workers). Incorporate feedback from other professionals into assessment and treatment plan, and provide timely training to other professionals as needed. Complete evaluation reports, progress notes and correspondence in a timely and thorough manner. Anticipate problems and develop alternative strategies for solving problems. Generate solutions independently and in conjunction with supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required in psychology, early childhood development, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred in clinical psychology.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with individuals or children with developmental disabilities or behavioral disorders is required.

Minimum pay range

USD $45,059.66/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $75,603.63/Yr.
