EDUCATION
Associate degree in Business or Healthcare Sciences / Administration with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology courses required or equivalent healthcare experience. Ongoing continuing education related to correct coding and understanding of regulatory compliance is encouraged.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years as a Clinical Services Assistant or equivalent position with direct experience coordinating and facilitating patient appointment scheduling in a healthcare environment. Individual must have computer experience in such applications as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc. Individual must have previous experience or education related to Third Party Payor requirements, CPT coding, and medical necessity as it pertains to the Imaging section.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with referring physicians, nursing/scheduling professionals, or directly with patients to assess their needs in order to maximize coordination of care. Individual must have critical thinking skills and analytical abilities as it relates to assessment of clinical needs, exam urgency, and appointment sequencing using computer skills to assist with decision support, as well as the problem solving skills to make decisions independently within position guidelines and expectations.
