Job Summary

We are looking for an organized and experienced Clinical Research Technician to assist with participant and community engagement activities on two large clinical trials. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about building strong working relationships with others and is a creative problem-solver with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities*

Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Contacting study participants about follow-up activities, disbursing payments, and completing study documentation.
• Co-leading community engagement activities. This will involve developing meeting materials, coordinating meetings, and preparing meeting notes following funder specifications.
• Leading or co-leading cross-cutting project initiatives which could change over time, depending on team needs and study phase. This will involve creating project resources and documentation, training staff on procedures, and triaging identified issues to team leadership.

Supervision Received:

This position receives direct supervision and reports directly to a Clinical Research Coordinator Project Manager.

Required Qualifications*

• Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.

• Previous experience conducting follow-ups and co-leading community engagement activities on a large clinical trial

• Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary.

or

• An advanced degree in a health-related areas such as: Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Clinical Research Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Epidemiology, Foreign MD

or

• Minimum 3 years of human subject experience (clinical, lab or health regulations) such as related patient care, related community health and wellness, related clinical information, and research.

Desired Qualifications*

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, public health or other health related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is desirable.
• Previous experience leading a team to accomplish a specific project initiative
• At least 1 year of human subjects research experience post-bachelor's
• An understanding of medical terminology, experience in a large complex health care setting, ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels, and knowledge of university policies and procedures is desirable.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

Must be willing to work a variable schedule with some evening (until 8pm) and weekend shifts shared across team members

Work Locations

This position is eligible for in an person off-site Campus location in Ann Arbor, MI, hybrid or fully remote work location.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
