Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry for clinical trial activities using electronic data capture (EDC) systems such as Inform and Medidata Rave.
  • Document adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs), including patient-reported outcomes, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and site procedures.
  • Review and interpret clinical trial protocols to ensure proper execution of study requirements at the site level.
  • Coordinate and handle monitor visits, including preparing required documentation, supporting query resolution, and following up on outstanding items.
  • Create and manage IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) kits for nurses and ensure correct utilization according to study protocols.
  • Conduct chart reviews and pre-screen patients to assess eligibility for oncology clinical trials.
  • Support adverse event reporting processes and ensure timely communication and documentation in alignment with regulatory and institutional guidelines.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and IRB teams to ensure compliance with clinical research and institutional requirements.
  • Utilize Epic and other clinical systems to review patient records and extract relevant data for clinical research purposes.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality, completeness, and accuracy across all clinical trial documentation.
  • Initially focus on non-patient-facing responsibilities while learning study protocols and processes, then progressively assume responsibilities for screening and recruiting patients into clinical trials.
  • Work closely with clinical research nurses, coordinators, and other study staff to support smooth trial operations and patient care within the oncology research setting.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems such as Inform and Medidata Rave.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Understanding of the clinical trial process at the site level, including study conduct and documentation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) and its role in clinical trial management.
  • CITI training in clinical research or human subjects protection.
  • Experience with Epic or similar electronic medical record systems for chart review and data extraction.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data entry, manage queries, and maintain data accuracy.
  • Experience in adverse event reporting and familiarity with AEs and SAEs in a clinical research context.
  • Ability to review and interpret clinical trial protocols and apply them to day-to-day study activities.
  • Ideally, experience in oncology clinical research or a strong interest in working in an oncology research environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a clinical research coordinator or clinical research nurse coordinator.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes and IRB submissions within clinical research.
  • Experience with Medidata Rave and other common clinical research technologies and platforms.
  • Knowledge of clinical research workflows, including chart review, pre-screening patients, and patient recruitment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple trials and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams.
  • Comfort working with complex oncology cases and sensitive patient information.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance with institutional policies and clinical research standards.

This role is based within an oncology-focused clinical research center and operates in a professional healthcare and research environment. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, working 8 hours per day with a start time between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and includes a 30-minute lunch break.
