- Interact regularly with principle investigators, research scientists, clinical research assistants, study recruiters, and administrative staff at the Complex Exposure Threats Center of Excellence, to ensure seamless research operations and maintain project momentum.
- Develop, implement, and oversee standard operating procedures (SOPs) associated with ongoing research protocols.
- Tracking study process to ensure key milestones are achieved and study is on track with the proposed timeline.
- Coordinate with clinical research assistants and study recruiters to ensure proper scheduling of participants' appointments and timely responses.
- Lead research meetings for study updates and propose any resolution to operational issues.
- Ensure all relevant log and readme files are up to date for data management, analysis, version control, and study operations management.
- Making sure all study personnel are using the most up to date informed consents and SOPs versions and version control history is logged appropriately.
- Serve as the supervisor of clinical research site personnel.
- Serve as a liaison between external research partners.
- Coordinate with the program manager and regulatory staff to prepare progress reports for sponsors and track various aspects of the program related to research administration (i.e., personnel management, development, and project budgets, etc.).
- May include budgetary responsibilities such as planning and forecasting research project spendings.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.
- Direct supervision: direct authority to make decisions pertaining to reporting employee's assigned tasks, workload, and disciplinary action.
- This position will also involve employee recruitment and hiring, with input from study sponsor technical scientific leads.

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Manager II to manage in the implementation of clinical research protocols. This is the second of three Clinical Research Manager levels.
This position will be in support of the Complex Exposure Threats Center of Excellence (CETCE) at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. This research position will play a critical role in managing complex research workflows, providing oversight and review for junior team members, overseeing data processes, and supporting multidisciplinary collaborations by coordinating with internal and external collaborators. Key responsibilities include ensuring accuracy, quality, and secure storage of study data, and facilitating timely and compliant data transfer between collaborators. Applicants who can independently lead routine project meetings, effectively communicate detailed progress updates, independently identify and resolve operational issues, and efficiently coordinate tasks across team members to maintain project momentum will be given priority. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsive to project timelines, resources, and ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
