Led by Dr. Ajay Goel, Professor and Founding Chair of the Department of Molecular Diagnostics and Experimental Therapeutics, our multidisciplinary research group comprises basic researchers, gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, and bioinformaticians undertaking several collaborative projects involving large international consortia. This position has the potential to become tenure-track upon the receipt of grant funding lasting 3-5 years from a federal agency.

Join us as a Clinical Research Associate where you will manage multiple research protocols to ensure efficiency and regulatory compliance while attending clinics as needed. You will handle data compilation, registration, and submission, and maintain an effective system for data flow. Benefit from mentorship by experienced staff in a dynamic research environment.

Our research focuses on translational studies of the genomic and epigenomic characterization of various gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal, pancreatic, gastric, esophageal, and hepatocellular cancers. Our group performs cutting-edge research in GI oncology, is very productive, and publishes in high-impact journals such as Nature, Cancer, Nature Communications, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology, New England Journal of Medicine, CA: A Journal for Clinicians, Gastroenterology, Cancer Cell, PNAS, JAMA Oncology, JNCI Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, and Annals of Surgery.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Manage and maintain protocol documentation and regulatory documents for IRB, DSMB, and PRMCC/PRMC. • Compile, submit, and process data and specimens per protocol requirements, ensuring accuracy and safety. • Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients and hospital staff while ensuring confidentiality. • Assist in patient recruitment, protocol-related tests, and evaluations, and perform protocol-specific duties. • Conduct research activities under close supervision, including laboratory experiments in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and informatics. • Identify and communicate protocol and data management issues to the supervisor, maintain professional development, and ensure an organized work environment.

Your qualifications should include:

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience, one year in a healthcare setting, preferably research, with medical terminology and writing skills. • Bachelors Degree preferred.
