Currently recruiting an abdominal solid organ transplant clinical pharmacy specialist to join our growing transplant team of 4 abdominal transplant pharmacists, 2 cardiothoracic transplant pharmacists, and 1 VAD/heart transplant pharmacist.

 

This is a

  • full-time dayshift position with primarily inpatient responsibilities
  • a rotating weekend/holiday on-call assignment (averaging every 3-4 weeks).

There are opportunities to precept PGY1 and PGY2 residents as well as adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy to precept APPE students.

This Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position will support the adult liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant programs primarily on the inpatient side

 

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • PharmD or equivalent education and hospital or ambulatory training / experience required, based on practice area of the position.
  • PGY2 residency or equivalent experience required. PGY 2 residency training is preferred.
  • Two to four years-experience in a relevant practice area will be considered equivalent to each year of residency training.
  • Board certification is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, pharmacy residents, and students is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations.
  • Ability to integrate clinical services, and educational activities is required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered pharmacist in Florida or eligible for same

 

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver.

 

Additional Requirement: As a condition of employment within the Pharmacy Services Department of Shands Hospital all employees must be accessible by telephone. This requires each employee to provide a valid telephone number to the department Staff Assistant, in order for the department to reach them in the event of hospital need and/or emergency.
