Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Pharmacist II, your work plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by assuring the safety and effective use of medications as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices to reduce risks of drug misadventures.   •  You will have daily interaction with your pharmacy team, nurses, physicians, and other facility staff in the hospital and intervene in conflicts between Pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue resolutions that may arise.
  • You will provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, and medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians 

What qualifications you will need:

  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy, a Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy is preferred.
  • Current Nevada license to practice pharmacy required.
  • Board certified in pharmacotherapy or other specialty board certification, AND At least one of the following:
  • Minimum of 3 years of hospital clinical pharmacy experience or at least 5 years of general hospital pharmacy experience required; preferably within area of focus OR
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency or fellowship
