Beacon Breaks Ground on New Memorial Hospital Patient Tower
In October 2022, Beacon Health System leaders broke ground on the new 10-story patient care tower on the campus of Memorial Hospital of South Bend. This transformational, once-in-a-generation project is designed to enrich the patient, family and visitor experience while meeting the growing healthcare needs of residents in our area for decades to come.

Reports to the Pharmacy Manager and assists in the development and maintenance of pharmacy services that promote and provide pharmaceutical care. Participates directly in clinically oriented services with a commitment to providing an excellent customer service experience.

Primary Responsibilities
The Critical Care and/or Emergency Medicine Pharmacist will:
Deliver direct, evidence-based medication management for critically ill and emergent patients.
Actively participate in rapid response events, stroke alerts, code blues, trauma activations, interdisciplinary rounds, and bedside procedures.
Optimize medication therapy through real-time clinical decision-making.
Lead and support initiatives that enhance quality, safety, and clinical outcomes.
Serve as a trusted clinical resource for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and adherence to clinical protocols.
Engage in teaching, precepting, and multidisciplinary education.
Qualifications
Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency; PGY2 in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine strongly preferred, or equivalent clinical experience.
Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
A commitment to service, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a bachelors degree in pharmacy or a Pharm D degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam and licensure as a registered pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the State of Indiana. The completion of hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is preferred.
