Clinical Pharmacist - Controlled Substance Monitoring Medical City Arlington Shift: Full-Time, Days, weekdays only

Job Summary and Qualifications

It is the responsibility of each employee to maximize the resources of the hospital. As a member of the Medical Center Arlington team, the employee makes a significant contribution to the publics perception of the hospital. The employee performs all services as they may relate to patient care, with consideration for the age and condition of the patient. Patient populations served include infant to geriatric adult. The employee performs additional tasks and activities as assigned.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, Meditech, and purchasing vendor applications, and others as required
  • Articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and systems
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations, balance, and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly, and transcribe accurately
  • Knowledge of medication indication, contraindications, common side effects, and usual doses is a must
  • Should also have knowledge of Safe Medication Practices is required
  • Knowledge should also include utilization related items needed
  • Knowledge should also include utilization of information sources
  • A general knowledge of the requirements as dictated by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is helpful
  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations is required knowledge base
  • Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform the assigned duties
