What You'll Do
Position Responsibilities
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care.
Support hospital performance on national quality indicators, with a strong focus on the admission medication process.
Provide educational in-services to clinical staff.
Develop policies and processes to enhance departmental operations and workflow efficiency.
Participate in at least one departmental or hospital committee.
Precept pharmacy students and/or residents, contributing to clinical education and training.
Role Breakdown
Direct patient care: 60%
Order verification & distribution: 20%
Education: 15%
Administrative duties: 5%
What We're Looking For
Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification
PharmD, preferred.
Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy. Oncology experience preferred for oncology roles, required.
2 years of experience for Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship roles: ASHP - accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR minimum of 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, required.
Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity., required.
Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role, required.
Additional Skills (required): Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
