Specific Job Title: Clinical Operations Liaison for Radiologic Sciences Program 

Reports to: Clinical Coordinator

Job Summary:  

The Clinical Operations Liaison supports the operational coordination of the Radiologic Sciences Program’s clinical education partnerships with affiliated healthcare institutions. The position assists with communication between the university and clinical affiliates, coordination of student clinical placements, and administrative oversight of clinical education processes. 

Working in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator and program leadership, the Clinical Operations Liaison assists with onboarding clinical affiliates, maintaining communication with clinical site leadership and preceptors and supporting the coordination of student clinical rotations. The role contributes to maintaining the program’s clinical education infrastructure and supports effective clinical training experiences for students enrolled in the Radiologic Sciences Program.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular communication with clinical affiliate leadership, including department managers, clinical instructors, and administrative staff. 

  • Assist with onboarding new clinical affiliates and ensuring completion of required documentation and agreements. 

  • Support relationship management with hospitals and imaging centers participating in the program’s clinical education network. 

  • Aid with scheduling logistics for clinical rotations in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator. 

  • Monitor clinical site availability and assist with planning for student placement needs. 

  • Serve as a liaison between the Radiologic Sciences Program and clinical preceptors. 

  • Help with communicating program policies, procedures, and expectations to clinical site personnel. 

  • Manage the coordination of student clinical evaluations and feedback processes. 

  • Work with the administration of clinical education tracking systems (e.g., Trajecsys). 

  • Collaborate with the preparation of reports related to clinical education activities. 

  • Cooperate with the training and development of clinical preceptors and clinical instructors. 

  • Sustain communication of program updates and operational information to clinical affiliates. 

  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and site visits related to clinical education coordination as needed. 

 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position will manage a group of 3rd year and 4th year radiologic sciences students at assigned affiliated clinical sites and clinical orientation workshops (prior to rotation placement) at the St. Vincent’s Health Sciences Center.  

 

 Work Environment: 

This position operates primarily in a remote work environment while supporting the Radiologic Sciences Program’s clinical education network. The role requires regular communication and coordination with healthcare partners and clinical affiliates across the New York metropolitan area. 

The Clinical Operations Liaison will periodically visit affiliated clinical sites to support clinical partnership engagement, onboarding activities, and operational coordination with hospital leadership and clinical preceptors. The position may also require occasional visits to the St. John’s University campus to attend departmental meetings, program planning sessions, and other university-related activities. 

Travel within the regional clinical affiliate network may be required.

Environmental Conditions: 

Clinical facilities can expose employees to various occupational hazards that can significantly impact their health and safety. These hazards include exposure to infectious diseases, workplace violence, and ergonomic risks associated with manual patient handling and repetitive tasks.  

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

16 hours per week divided across 1 or 2 days as needed per semester.  

 

Travel: 

Employees are required to have their own method of transportation to and from clinical sites and to campus as needed. 

 

Qualifications: 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, business administration, communications, healthcare administration, or related field. 

  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management, business development, partnership coordination, or external stakeholder engagement. 

  • Experience in sales, marketing, account management, program coordination, or a related professional role requiring strong client or partner interaction. 

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and external partnerships simultaneously. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare partners, faculty, and program staff. 

  • Ability to conduct outreach, develop partnerships, and maintain ongoing engagement with external organizations. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 

  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid work environment while maintaining consistent communication with program leadership. 

  • Ability to travel to clinical affiliate sites within the New York metropolitan area and attend occasional meetings on campus. 

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion when handling sensitive information. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, management, healthcare administration, higher education administration, or related field. 

  • Experience in marketing, sales, account management, partnership development, or external stakeholder engagement. 

  • Experience in coordinating programs, projects, or events involving multiple partners or organizations. 

  • Familiarity with healthcare environments, hospital systems, or clinical education programs. 

  • Experience working in higher education or supporting academic programs.
