Responsibilities:
  • Sees clinic patients independently and supports physician in clinic.
  • Fully documents all care provided independently in a timely manner.
  • Bills for services provided
  • Completes new patient evaluations.
  • Provides extensive patient education pre and post operatively.
  • Sees post-operative patients in clinic.
  • Responds to patient calls as needed.
  • Evaluates patients in clinic as needed regarding potential complications.
  • Participates in hospital rounds independently and with physician.
  • Provides discharge instructions to patient and family.
  • Performs as first assistant in surgery as required.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution and completion of a nurse practitioner training program Required
  • NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner Required and
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner with the state of Alabama Required and
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Required and
  • CRNFA - Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant Completion of certidfication program as RNFA Preferred
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
