Responsibilities:
Manage both acute and chronic illnesses, from common conditions like hypertension and diabetes to complex multi-system diseases.
Perform thorough physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans as patient needs evolve.
Educating patients on healthy lifestyles, recommending screenings, and administering vaccinations to reduce disease risk and detect conditions early.
Coordinate care for patients with multiple chronic conditions to integrate treatment plans.
Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
Regular and prompt attendance
Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama Required
Completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program Required
NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner Required and
Licensed Nurse Practitioner with the State of Alabama Required and
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Required
Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
