Nurse Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated nurse leader who is clinically strong, operationally savvy, and passionate about building engaged, high-performing teams. This leadership role provides the opportunity to influence day-to-day operations while shaping long-term culture, quality outcomes, and staff development.

If you are a nurse leader who values clinical excellence, professional growth, and collaboration—and who wants to influence positive change—this is an opportunity to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact.

About this unit

The 39-bed Critical Care Step-Down Unit (CCSU) is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. The unit serves patients with a range of complex medical conditions, including pulmonary, cardiac, and neurological disorders, as well as post-operative surgical patients who require an elevated level of nursing care. CCSU also provides care for ventilated patients with tracheostomies.

All staff members complete hospital and nursing orientation, followed by comprehensive unit-specific training. Core and unit competencies are established during this onboarding process.

Our team is composed of registered nurses (RNs) and nursing assistants (NAs), and strong teamwork is essential to fostering a cohesive and effective care environment.

Scope of work

The Clinical Nurse Manager is an experienced leader responsible for the overall management of assigned units and services. This role provides leadership and oversight of patient care staff to support a culture of excellence in clinical practice, staff engagement, recruitment and retention, and strong clinical and operational outcomes.

The Nurse Manager ensures the safe and effective delivery of patient care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards, as well as organizational policies and procedures. Serving as a key advocate for safety and retention, the Nurse Manager leverages data, technology, and evidence-based practices to drive decision-making and proactively mitigate risk.

This role fosters a desirable and supportive work environment that enables staff and the organization to meet or exceed strategic goals. The Nurse Manager models effective communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and interdisciplinary partners. Role-specific responsibilities and competencies align with the organization’s Professional Practice Model.

The position reports to the Director of Nursing or above.
