Position: Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Navigator (Radiology Navigator)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, primarily in-person with potential remote flexibility

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Navigator to coordinate care and operational workflows within our radiology services, supporting safe, efficient ultrasound workflows and timely patient care.
Position Overview:
The RN Radiology Navigator serves as a clinical and operational liaison between sonographers, maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) providers, OB/GYN providers, and office staff to facilitate seamless ultrasound workflow and effective communication. This role involves coordinating urgent reads, managing scheduling, and ensuring smooth communication to support high-quality patient care while maintaining workflow efficiency. The Navigator develops and maintains standard work procedures, identifies workflow improvements, and demonstrates adaptability in a dynamic practice environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the communication bridge between sonographers, MFM providers, and OB/GYN team members, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Coordinate urgent ultrasound reads and same-day provider needs related to ultrasound findings, ensuring timely follow-up and closed-loop communication.
- Support sonographers by allowing them to maintain scanning workflow without delays.
- Complete advance chart preparation to ensure all required information is available for ViewPoint and other systems.
- Identify and address scheduling errors or gaps, escalating concerns appropriately.
- Develop and maintain standard work procedures, including contingency plans for staffing gaps.
- Proactively identify workflow improvements, suggesting and helping to design future processes.
- Demonstrate innovation, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to adapt to changing practice needs.
- Utilize clear, kind, and effective communication, including giving and receiving feedback.
Schedule & Structure:
- Full-time
- Primarily in-person; remote flexibility may be available
- Coordination of PTO among navigators to maintain coverage

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:
- Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.
- Specialty certifications may be required depending on the department's provision of care.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in MFM, L&D, Postpartum, OB/GYN or NICU Strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical record requirements, regulations, and policies.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and adapt quickly in a collaborative environment.
