Part Time Swing Shift
Summary
This position is part of the provider care team who helps with diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions through the use of technical and scientific knowledge. This position is responsible for accurate, precise, and timely performance of laboratory tests. The Medical Technologist will evaluate and report test results while assuring compliance and meeting all regulatory requirements consistent with the highest standards of quality.

Preferred:
Holds or qualifies for a Nevada State General Supervisor of a Licensed Laboratory, which supersedes the Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Specialist licensure in an assigned discipline.
Additional certification by national examination, Certification, such as ASCP Board of Certification.
Advanced graduate degree with Masters of Science
Essential Functions
Follows the Laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records for patient test results. Follows established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
Identifies problems that may adversely affect test results and must correct the issue or immediately notify the Department Section Head, Laboratory Manager, or Laboratory Director.
Participate in CMS mandated proficiency testing. Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing and competency assessments are completed per regulatory policies.
Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
Performs and documents corrective action for all non-conforming events.
Achieve and maintain competency for all assigned areas in the laboratory within specified timeframe.
Prioritizes specimen processing for STAT, Time Critical, and routine testing. Assists with directing workload of specimen testing to optimize and minimize result turnaround times.
Participates in quality improvement by assisting in data collection and monitoring of quality indicators.
Provides accurate, timely, and professional communication to health care providers regarding critical results and abnormal laboratory findings or conditions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
