Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform a wide range of laboratory tests on biological specimens to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will analyze and validate test results, ensure quality control, maintain laboratory equipment, and uphold patient safety and regulatory compliance while supporting high-quality laboratory operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, or related field required

  • Clinical laboratory experience preferred

  • Active Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in the state of practice (where required)

  • ASCP or equivalent national certification preferred

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and safety standards

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on biological specimens using established procedures and protocols.

  • Analyze, validate, document, and report accurate laboratory test results.

  • Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory quality assurance standards.

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Collect, process, label, and handle specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.

  • Prioritize laboratory testing based on clinical urgency and physician orders.

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Follow infection prevention, laboratory safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies.

  • Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and assist with reagent and equipment management.

  • Train and provide guidance to laboratory assistants, students, and new staff as needed.

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
