ECU Health and Acadia Healthcare have built a state of the art, 144-bed behavioral health facility, opening soon. The new facility will include 24 inpatient beds dedicated to the mental health needs of children and adolescents.

Job Duties

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, has temporary faculty positions available.

Faculty positions are available at the titles of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, and Research Professor.

These part-time, temporary faculty positions may have teaching, clinical, research, and administrative duties.

Positions are 12-month, fixed term appointments.

Positions are contingent upon the availability of funds.

Position will remain open, and applications remain active until 12/31/2026.

Minimum Education/Experience

Psychiatrist: MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification.

Psychologist: A PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program with successful completion of an APA-approved internship in Psychology.

For research positions - PhD from an appropriately accredited institution.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Psychiatrist: Must be eligible for NC medical license and be board eligible/certified in appropriate discipline to provide patient care.

Psychologist: Must be licensed with NC Board of Psychology and eligible/certified by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists to provide patient care.
