THE CLINICAL INFORMATICS SPECIALIST is responsible for coordinating and facilitating workflow improvements to enhance the effectiveness of clinical documentation applications. Provides clinical support and training to physicians, end users, and clinical leaders, and resolves problems with clarity. Collaborates with MIS Department analysts to implement changes in clinical applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse Licensure or Temporary Practice Permit required.
Bachelors of Science in nursing or related healthcare field preferred or must obtain within 6 years of start date.
Minimum of 2 years current experience in an acute care setting or clinical informatics required with previous medical-surgical or critical care experience preferred.
Certification in clinical nursing informatics preferred or must complete within 6 years of start date.
Proficient skills in use of PCS spreadsheet and database concepts and clinical documentation systems required.
Knowledge of PowerPlan build and functionality and impact across various departments throughout the hospital preferred.
