What We Offer:

Location: Huntersville Medical Center

Department: Comprehensive Rehab

Shift: PRN | 7am - 4:30pm | Monday - Friday

 

At Novant Health, Clinical Exercise Physiologist lead patients in all disciplines of Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation in accordance with current cardiac and pulmonary policies and procedures with an emphasis on cardiac and pulmonary health as it relates to exercise. In this role, the Clinical Exercise Physiologist will formulate and modify exercise prescriptions for new Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation participants based on medical history and special needs.

 

藺 What You Bring:

  • Graduate Degree, required. Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology.
  • Minimum of one year hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist, preferred. 
  • ACSM Certification in Clinical Exercise Physiology within 6 months of hire (Certification Agreement signed upon hire), required.

What We're Looking For:

 

  • Education: Graduate Degree, required. Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist, preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification: ACSM Certification in Clinical Exercise Physiology within 6 months of hire (Certification Agreement signed upon hire), required.
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management.
    • Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data.
    • Has the knowledge, skills and ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
    • Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed.
    • Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff.

Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
