I. PURPOSE OF JOB:

To coordinate, develop and facilitate orientation and continuing education for all Surgical Services Associates in conjunction with providing OR nursing services

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates, develops and facilitates orientation, competencies and continuing

Education for all Surgical Services Associates(OR, SDS, PAT, PACU and

anesthesia techs).

  1. Demonstrates clinical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital department and regulatory policies in order to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the Surgical Services Associates

  2. Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality

initiatives and goals

  1. Provides nursing care in a manner that promotes quality and patient safety
