JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible to the Director of Nursing Practice Excellence.
DEFINITION OF POSITION
The Clinical Education Specialist collaborates with the Department Directors and Educators to assess, plan, intervene and evaluated educational needs of all staff in the nursing division.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
BSN degree required with education experience, MSN preferred. Clinical education experience preferred.
BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
Participation in continuing education programs. Compliant with Board of Nursing and hospital policy of continuing education hour requirements.
Broad knowledge of current trends and issues related to specialty clinical practice and health care.
Proven ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers, students, instructors, and leaders.
National certification in area of specialty is preferred.
Membership in a professional organization.
Computer skills: knowledgeable and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office programs, Meditech and other related hospital information systems.
