  • Responsible to the Director of Nursing Practice Excellence.

  • DEFINITION OF POSITION

  • The Clinical Education Specialist collaborates with the Department Directors and Educators to assess, plan, intervene and evaluated educational needs of all staff in the nursing division.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

  • BSN degree required with education experience, MSN preferred. Clinical education experience preferred.

  • BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.

  • Participation in continuing education programs. Compliant with Board of Nursing and hospital policy of continuing education hour requirements.

  • Broad knowledge of current trends and issues related to specialty clinical practice and health care.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers, students, instructors, and leaders.

  • National certification in area of specialty is preferred.

  • Membership in a professional organization.

  • Computer skills: knowledgeable and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office programs, Meditech and other related hospital information systems.
