Full-time | Leadership Role | Residential Treatment Center

Embark Behavioral Health in Alexandria, VA is hiring a Clinical Director to lead our residential treatment center. Join a passionate team working to reduce adolescent anxiety, depression, suicide and help create joy and healing across generations.

The Clinic Director provides oversight to the therapists and case managers and leads program development and management of clinical and administrative tasks. The Clinic Director also occasionally provides direct services for group, individual and family therapy in addition to their supervisory responsibilities.

Embark operates facilities across the US that support adolescents, young adults and their family's mental health and well-being by offering a full continuum of care from Long Term Residential and Wilderness Therapy environments to our IOP/PHP clinics to virtual outpatient care. Our local IOP & PHP clinics are a critical part of our strategy to increase access to life-saving mental health treatments for families with insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Lead the Clinical and Nursing Departments in developing and implementing short- and long-term plans.
  • Ensure clinical integrity through adherence to policies, innovative therapeutic interventions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and treatment planning to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Recruit, retain, and mentor top clinical talent to build a high-performing, mission-driven team.
  • Provide expert guidance, crisis management support, and supervision to clinical and nursing staff.
  • Cultivate a culture of employee engagement, satisfaction, and continuous professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative care environment with clients, families, and the treatment team.
  • Manage a small caseload (2-3 clients), offering direct therapeutic support and building meaningful relationships.
  • Champion holistic, family-system-based approaches to therapy that promote generational healing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations
  • Partner with the Executive Director to develop systems and processes that elevate operational metrics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation and maintain compliance with all licensing and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead risk management efforts, including investigations, root cause analysis, and trend identification.
  • Provide ongoing training for clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure excellence across all facets of care.
  • Lead clinical and residential training sessions and participate in professional development events

Qualifications

  • Master''s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy a requirement.
  • Independent Clinical Licensure in the state of VA is required for this role.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent.
  • Must be a board-approved clinical supervisor to hold this position.
  • Strong People Manager with excellent team-building skills
  • Two years of working experience as a licensed therapist leading individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and adjust a course of treatment as required.
