Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a human service-related field Documentation of at least two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree supervised experience in the profession of alcoholism and drug abuse counseling or related field and the techniques of casework, group work, or community organizations Current license as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker is highly recommended. Understanding of substance abuse and chemical dependency as defined in the DSM-IV. Understanding of addictions and knowledge of the impact of addiction on women and families. Knowledge of 12-step programs and perinatal programs aimed at rural women and minorities. Familiarity with the community and its resources. Individual must be familiar with other agencies and with what they offer. Ability to correlate needs with possible solutions; ability to synthesize information effectively in order to communicate successfully both orally and in writing.
